Our PTA is more than just fundraisers.

It is building our community and assisting our future leaders.

"To be successful as an individual you have to be successful in a team"

I distilled what my mentors told me into five basic rules for dealing productively with fellow teammates. These rules will help you to achieve the most from your relationships. Keep in mind that without your teammates, you will accomplish nothing.

The rules are:

  1. Everyone matters. Whether you respect someone’s opinions or not, it is important that they be heard.
  2. Never be confrontational. As soon as emotions start to rise, and a problem is identified, a “mental filter” should start processing your words before you speak them.
  3. Motivate and inspire each other. It is the responsibility of every team member to provide positive motivation and inspiration to others.
  4. Recognize that everyone is an individual. Most of us have heard of the Golden Rule: “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” Being a good teammate, you must take that to the next level, the Golden Rule Plus One: “Treat others as you know they would like to be treated.”
  5. Have selfless dedication. If you have selfless dedication then you will listen to your teammates’ concerns and problems as if they were your own.
